APA - American Psychological Association
APA is a style most commonly used in the social and behavioral sciences, health care, natural sciences, humanities, and more. It was created to "codify the many components of scientific writing to increase the ease of reading comprehension" (About APA Style).

FREE for Students - Office 365. This Microsoft office product has templates to format APA and MLA.
- To access Office 365 go to the Microsoft Online website.
- Enter your college-issued email address (e.g. jdoe1@student.cccd.edu) and password.

Coastline College Student Success & Resource Center
If you would like to have a tutor review your paper for MLA and/or APA style, please do the following:
- Go to “Online Tutoring” (which is NetTutor) which may be linked within your Canvas course page in the left navigation pane alongside other course links. If you do not see it, you can self-enroll in the Student Success & Resource Center Canvas shell. Click on the link on that page that says “Login Here: Online Tutoring”
- Once you are in the Canvas page, click on Online Tutoring, which is in the left navigation pane.
- When NetTutor opens, you will see some options. Click on “NetTutor Writing Center”
- Within the NetTutor Writing Center, you can choose to meet with a live tutor or you can submit a paper or a question. If you choose to drop off a paper, you can include comments to ask the tutor to review specific things such as MLA or APA citations/style.
- If you have questions or concerns about this process, please email success@coastline.edu.
Remember you can find citations in the Library Databases also!

Find Articles / Resources / Books & eBooks / etc.
The Coastline Library subscribes to eBooks & Databases that have thousands of peer-reviewed articles, scholarly journals, newspapers, and eBooks for Coastline students and staff. Find Library Databases organized by subject on the eBooks & Databases page. Each database has a video that shows you how to use that resource. Search the Library Catalog for all library content. Explore Google Scholar to find more articles and learn how to find Coastline resources on Google Scholar.

Libraries in Orange County for Coastline Students
Coastline students with a current student ID may use the general library collections (not textbooks) at the following Community College Libraries in Orange County:
- Cypress College Library
- Fullerton College Library
- Golden West College Library
- Orange Coast College Library
Students may also use the Library at Cal State Long Beach (CSULB) with a current student ID.
Orange County Public Library has 33 branch libraries across Orange County that students can use to study, check out books, use computers, print, and more!
