All services are available to students during posted SSRC operational hours. Hours of operation for each center are posted on this webpage. Modifications to the hours are listed in the Announcements field on this page. The SSRC has locations at Newport Beach and Westminster/Le-Jao.
Instructional Associates. There is an Instructional Associate on duty during hours of operation for both locations (Newport Beach and Westminster/Le-Jao). The Associate on duty is able to support student needs at the college such as how to:
- Log in to student email, Canvas, and MyCoast;
- How to engage with Proctorio;
- How to engage with course software such as MyLab products;
- Find other departments/programs/services (e.g., Admissions/Records, Financial Aid, Counseling, etc.)
- Providing academic resources and learning strategies (one-to-one or small-group assistance)
Student Success. The SSRC provides services that directly and positively impact student success, which includes retention, persistence from semester to semester, and overall course completion. Students who utilize SSRC services optimize their learning habits to experience course-level and pathway success. The SSRC is a combination of onsite and online services, many of which are explained below.
Signing In. Students who visit an SSRC location sign in with the Instructional Associate on duty. Students are requested to provide their student ID number for verification and tracking purposes.
Study Space. After signing in with the Instructional Associate on duty, students are welcome to utilize the study space available at either location for individual or group study to complete course assignments and to study. Each location has a variety of tables, chairs, and sofas for student use. The Instructional Associate on duty can be consulted to facilitate the use of study space.
Computer Workstations. Windows-based internet-connected computer workstations are available for student use at both SSRC locations. Students must sign in to a computer workstation with their MyCoast credentials. The Instructional Associate on duty can assist students with certain tasks such as how to upload or attach files, convert files to PDF, etc.
Study Materials. Study materials (e.g., calculators, textbooks, etc.) that are available in either center must be obtained through the instructional associate on duty and are for in-center use only.
Anatomy Models. The Newport Beach SSRC location has human anatomy model parts for individual and group study. These materials also can be accessed through the Instructional Associate on duty.
Printing. Students are welcome to print course-related materials at either SSRC location (Westminster or Newport Beach). Color printing is available at the Newport SSRC location. See the Instructional Associate on duty at either location to print.

The Student Success & Resource Center's (SSRC) mission is to foster student-driven success, promote independent and lifelong learning, and provide academic support through an encouraging, engaging, and constructive environment. We aim to serve students by offering college preparation programs, tutoring services, study space, printing, and workshops that prioritize learning through a diverse, inclusive, and equitable lens.

Working in close collaboration with faculty, tutoring services, and students, the SSRC empowers students to be responsible and active learners. The SSRC provides flexible learning and work environments for Coastline students through learning assistance for most courses offered, access to online tutoring services, academic skills workshops, and computer-assisted learning programs. The SSRC provides study areas, space for group study sessions, access to wi-fi and computers, and printing.

Students who visit and engage in the services provided via the SSRC will:
- Identify gaps in their understanding and develop a strategy to address them.
- Increase personal development in areas such as self-monitoring, time management, persistence, and academic proficiency.
- Increase awareness and utilization of available resources.
