Why is studying Geography important?
Geography helps us understand the physical world, such as land, air, water, and ecology. It also helps us understand human environments, such as societies and communities. This includes economics, social and cultural issues, and sometimes morals and ethics.
Geography is divided into two main branches: human geography and physical geography.
Twelve key geographic concepts underpin the study: change, distance, distribution, environment, interconnection, movement, place, process, region, scale, spatial association and sustainability.
Some examples of disciplines in human geography: cultural, historical, political, and social.
