Federal Work-Study (FWS) is financial aid money students earn to help pay for school. Learn how you can get qualified!
What is FWS?
Federal Work-Study (FWS) provides part-time jobs for eligible students to earn money to help pay for college. FWS jobs are available on-campus in a variety of departments, areas, and offices. Pay starts at $16 an hour and each student can work up to 19.5 hours per week until students have exhausted their FWS award amount.
What are the benefits?

- FWS earnings are not required to report on FAFSA
What are the eligibility requirements?
- Students enrolled in at least (6) units
- Students who submitted a FAFSA
- Students who complete their financial aid file
- Students who meet satisfactory academic progress and have financial need as calculated by Financial Aid
How can I get FWS?
Email the Financial Aid office. We'll check your eligibility and award eligible students. Keep in mind that funding is limited, and an award does not guarantee employment or that once employed, the position will be retained.
