ESL Program
Coastline provides a specialized English as a Second Language (ESL) program for foreign-born or bilingual students who need to improve their skills in speaking, comprehending, reading, or writing the English language.

Once you become a student at Coastline, schedule an appointment with one of our multilingual counselors online or give them a call at (714) 241-6162 during normal office hours to help you select the best courses for your goals.
Educational Programs
Specialized classes for students from beginning to high-advanced proficiency levels are offered through Coastline's ESL department. Some advanced-level courses transfer to the CSU system. Students may choose either of the following options:
- The Intensive Program: ESL classes from 8am - 2:30pm two days per week (Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday). Courses focus on grammar, reading, writing, listening comprehension, and speaking. Students earn twelve units of college credit per semester.
- Individual ESL Classes: Students may choose individual day or evening ESL classes offering from four to eight hours of instruction per week.
International Students
Potential international students applying for student visas should contact the International Student Program for application and registration information.
