Dr. Petry received her Master’s with a double major in Spanish and a Doctorate Degree in Russian Languages, Literature, and History with an emphasis on Cultural Studies, from Universities, Ca' Foscari in Venice, Italy. She specialized in teaching Italian as a second language for adults with the postgraduate program in Venice, at University Foscari Master ITALS. As an Adjunct Professor here at Coastline, Petry teaches Spanish in the ECHS Dual Enrollment program and is currently in her fifth year representing International Languages on Curriculum. She is a Polyglot, speaking 5 languages and holds the SPOT and ACUE certification for teaching online in Higher Ed with Excellence for past 20 years. She currently teaches at UCI Italian for Spanish Heritage speakers and at Mt. SAC Italian and Spanish. Her sixteen-year-old son speaks 4 languages and wants to learn more.

Dr. Hoerer earned her PhD in Biological Sciences from Syracuse University, where she studied college science teaching, microbial ecology and ecosystem sustainability in Yellowstone National Park. She currently serves as fulltime faculty in the Biological Sciences and Allied Health Department at Coastline College and Lead PI for the S-STEM scholarship grant funded by NSF. She has worked to find practical solutions for making STEM more inclusive and accessible to students by attending AJEDI training through the Tiny Earth Project at the University of Wisconsin, Madison, as part of the undergraduate research project in antibiotic discovery.

Oceana Callum joined Coastline College in 2017 as a full-time faculty member, where she became a tenured professor in 2021. Originally from Northern California, Professor Callum received her Bachelor's degree in English at U.C. Santa Barbara, a Master of Arts in English with a focus on American Literature at U.C. Order of Presenters Riverside, and a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing with a focus on poetry at California State University, Long Beach. In 2019, she founded StoryLine, Coastline College's magazine featuring the art and writing of Coastline students, faculty, and staff, as well as other talented artists from the region, and she now serves as Faculty Advisor of the magazine.

Dr. Matthew Quinlan joined Coastline College as a full-time Psychology instructor in Fall 2017. He earned a B.A. in Psychology from LMU and a PhD in Neuroscience from Concordia University in Montreal, Canada. At Coastline, he is co-chair of the Psychology Department, was an active member of the DEISSA Committee, is part of the Student Equity and Achievement work group, and acts as facilitator of the Faculty Equity Course professional development program.
