Ruth Dills Memorial Scholarship

It is with a heavy heart, that a memorial scholarship endowment has been established to honor the legacy of Ruth E. Dills as a counselor, professor, and mentor at Coastline College.

Ruth E. Dills

Ruth dedicated her professional career to serving the most marginalized students in the Extended Opportunity Programs and Services (EOPS) and Cooperative Agencies Resources for Education (CARE) programs. Ruth was a fearless advocate for the most vulnerable students on campus and would often go to Sacramento for legislative visits to advocate for her students. Her unwavering commitment to positively impacting the lives of her students earned her the title "Godmother of EOPS" at the CCC State Chancellor Office. Ruth committed her heart and soul to students in poverty that would not otherwise have an opportunity. Her contributions and achievement will transcend generations.
