Supporting Coastline students through financial programs.
Coastline Foundation
The mission of the Coastline College Foundation is to support students through scholarships, endowment, and other financial programs to expand the capacity to meet the diverse needs of Coastline students and the community.
Foundation Overview
In 1984, it became obvious to the Coast Community College District Board of Trustees that private funding had become a necessary supplement to enable the District's three colleges to sustain their high level of quality and innovation. The time arrived to develop new funding mechanisms for our community college system. In November 1985, Coastline College Foundation held its first official meeting as an incorporated 501 (C) (3) organization. The Foundation serves the college as an independent organization with a full board of directors and staff allocated by the college, receiving gifts of time, talent and resources from hundreds of donors each year who are committed to changing a life... one student at a time.
Coastline College is unique in that it serves many communities rather than being affiliated with only one. Founded in 1976, the fully accredited college offers classes at more than 60 sites located in coastal Orange County. In addition to class sites in Fountain Valley, Garden Grove, Huntington Beach, Newport Beach, Seal Beach, and Westminster, many students take classes in their homes - online - or through telecourses. As a comprehensive college, Coastline offers transfer and A.A. degree programs, occupational certificates, and also serves the needs of adults seeking English language skills and remedial education. The Foundation plays a significant role in the life of the college and currently supports campaigns for computer equipment, scholarships, planned giving, and many other programs and services. A full list can be found on the Ways to Give page.
The Coastline Foundation continually searches for new and innovative ways to serve the Coastline community. Coastline College is a campus without walls, and the Coastline Foundation (like its parent college) knows no barriers. Contact the Foundation at foundation@coastline.edu or call (714) 241-6154.
