Breaking "Transfer Degree" News:

Effective Fall 2026, the original Elementary Teacher Education Associate in Arts for Transfer (AA-T) will be retired and replaced by the Elementary Teacher Education: Integrated Programs Associate in Arts for Transfer (AA-T).

Beginning with the Fall 2026 admission cycle, Cal State Apply will list both degree versions in the Extended Profile drop-down section. Students can declare either ADT during the application process.

CSU campuses will continue to accept students following the previous Elementary Teacher Education AA degree pathway for at least three years after the new AA-T degree is implemented. Students who began their program before Fall 2026 may remain on their original plan through at least the February 2028 enrollment term.

Some differences:

• Math 104 has been moved to List C
• Children’s Literature has been moved up to a required option
• The new AAT degree is now aligned with CalGETC

  The NEW AA-T:

  during the application process.

  Coastline and CSU Chico Collaborate to Offer an Online BA, Liberal Studies

  Part I: Enroll at Coastline in the ADT in Elementary Teacher Education 

  Part II: Seamlessly transfer to CSU Chico to complete the BA in Liberal Studies Degree.

  Coastline offers all lower-division courses to fulfill both General Education units and the required Elementary Subject Matter (ESM) courses (particularly Math, Science, and History.

CTC Update: Important Changes

The Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC) announced a series of sweeping new changes to the ways in which future educators can meet both the Basic Skills Requirement and Subject Matter Competency. These changes were included in the Education Trailer Bill signed by the Governor.
