Black History Month Parade & Cultural Faire
Coastline and the Umoja Community will be participating in the Annual OC Black History Month Parade & Culture Faire in Downtown Anaheim.
As the only black heritage parade in the county, the event showcases Anaheim's and Orange County's culturally rich African-American community. Did you know this yearly event brings some 8,000 people together to mark the contributions of African-Americans to Anaheim and the county? Come be part of this greatness!

The 25th Annual LA Black College Expo is happening! Students have the chance to get accepted on the spot, receive scholarships and get all your questions answered. A Night at the Theater: Lion King
Join the Umoja Community as we attend the live performance of the Lion King at the Segerstrom Theater for the performing arts in Costa Mesa, California. This is a great event to connect with the community and learn more about cultural and artistic engagement.
The Role of Allies in Addressing Anti-Black Racism
Engage is a critical discussion about the role and importance of Black Allyship in addressing anti-Black racism in today's environment. Learn from Mira Costa's leadership on how to implement core concepts of Black Allyship in the classroom and support services that will directly impact student success for Black students at Coastline.

Spoken Word with Yazmin Monet Watkins
Join us for an evening of inspiration and connection that explores spoken word as a tool for social activism under the guidance of Yazmin Monet Watkins, a bisexual poet, comedian, writer, actress, producer, educator, and organizer. Touring her intimate yet political poetry from Obama's White House to Johannesburg, and empowering students from Harvard to youth prisons, Watkins' body of work weaves art and activism, exploring the intersection of race, gender, sexuality, self-love, and all things Black Girl Magic.
Black Voices from the Ivory Tower
Join us for a virtual film viewing and conversation with Dr. Khalid White. Emerging from 2020's "Racial Reckoning", the film, Black Voices from the Ivory Tower, critically examines the racialized experiences of California's Black students, staff, and faculty in higher education. Addressing subjects like the Black Tax, and Racial Battle Fatigue, the Black Voices film provides best practices and solutions to advance equity, inclusion, and belonging. Moving campuses from anti-Black to anti-Racist.
