Credits for College Program

Why the Program?

The program enables students to earn college credit while still in high school.

Purpose of the Program

The Credit for College Program is a program for high school students that offers a variety of college classes each semester on site at various high schools in the Garden Grove, Huntington Beach Union, and Newport Mesa Unified School Districts. In addition to the site-based Banking for College Program, Coastline has a Virtual Banking for College Program available to all California high school students enrolled in public, private, home, and parochial schools. The program allows students to meet their high school graduation requirements and/or obtain college credit simultaneously.

Will the courses transfer to two year Colleges and Universities?

Yes! The courses being offered through the program meets general education and/or elective credit requirements at the CSU and/or UC system schools. Please check with a Coastline Counselor to inquire about private and/or out-of-state schools.

What are the benefits?

Enrollment fees are waived

The $20 per unit enrollment fee is waived for high school students. Students must meet California residency requirements. Students must live in the state for one year and one day before the semester begins to meet residency requirements. For more information, click here.

Textbooks

Coastline Community College will provide the required textbooks for the Credits for College site-based classes for the duration of the semester.
